Hi friends!
I hope your Thanksgiving week is off to a great start. All of my kids are off school and we’ve been enjoying a good mix of little adventures outside the house and long, cozy reading sessions in the front room. I’m getting ready to climb under a big blanket with a mug of tea and a mystery novel, but first I wanted to share a brand new episode (and new season!) of Letters to Women with you. Maybe you’re traveling for Thanksgiving and this episode can keep you company in the car!
The newest season of Letter to Women doesn’t launch officially until December 2nd, but paid subscribers get early and ad free access!
This new season is called Letters to Daughters. Each episode, we’re exploring what living out the feminine genius in this vocation of daughter: daughters to our Heavenly father as well as daughter within our human families.
Thank you, women who are daughters and women who are sisters! Into the heart of the family, and then of all society, you bring the richness of your sensitivity, your intuitiveness, your generosity and fidelity.
- Saint Pope John Paul II, Letter to Women
The very first episode of the season is “A Letter to the Daughter Learning to Be Little and Dependent on the Father”.
I loved getting to sit down for a conversation with Heather Khym. Heather is the cohost of the internationally popular Abiding Together podcast and the author of Abide. She and her husband, Jake, are the cofounders of Life Restoration Ministries, where she serves as director of vision and ministry of the British Columbia-based apostolate. She also serves as director of the Celtic Cross Foundation.
For years, I’ve loved learning about the importance of story, identity, and healing from Heather. Whether that’s reading books she’s written or listening to her in conversation with friends over on the Abiding Together podcast, I’m so excited for this conversation to not only start of this new season of Letters to Daughters, but also to start off this liturgical season of Advent.
In this episode, we talk about a new Advent journal Heather wrote and what it means to experience this liturgical season as a healing journey. So if you’re ready for encounter the Lord in a new way as we prepare for Christmas, sister, this letter is for you.
