A Letter to the Daughter Who Wants to Believe the Father Is Faithful
🎧 You get early access to my conversation with Meg Hunter-Kilmer
Hi all!
I hope your Christmas season is going beautifully. We’re living our best lives and enjoying every day of the Christmas Octave. Or is it the twelve days of Christmas? Maybe we’ll leave the Christmas tree up until February 2nd? We’ll figure it out.
I’m excited for a massive Christmas dinner with my parents and siblings tomorrow, complete with a turkey and cheesy potatoes (and probably a few cans of Dr. Pepper, the shared vice of most of my relatives on my mom’s side).
But before I load all the kiddos into their carseats, I wanted to share a brand new episode of Letters to Women with you. Maybe you’re traveling for this weekend and this episode can keep you company in the car! The latest episode of the Letters to Daughters season doesn’t go live until next Monday, but paid subscribers get early access.
Thank you, women who are daughters and women who are sisters! Into the heart of the family, and then of all society, you bring the richness of your sensitivity, your intuitiveness, your generosity and fidelity.
- Saint Pope John Paul II, Letter to Women
My guest today is Meg Hunter-Kilmer. Meg has been on the podcast so many times—sometimes even walking away from the Olympics for a conversation, which was a top-level honor, let me tell you what. I first met Meg ten years ago at a Kansas Catholic College Student Convention and her love for Christ and his Church is such a joy to witness. When I started putting together the shows for this Letters to Daughters season, I knew I wanted Meg back on the show to talk about what living her daughterhood looked like.
In this conversation, we’re talking about the saints, Meg’s recent trip to South Korea, what it’s like to write about the hard parts of saints stories so even the littlest can meet these Heavenly friends, and what it’s like for Meg to OWN a home after years of life as a hobo for Christ.
If you're ready to embrace your identity as a beloved daughter of God and be inspired by the lives of the saints, this letter is for you.
