Instead of “Naptime Notes”, this post could be more aptly called “Surgery Notes”. We spent the day at the hospital while William had a scope for his trach. He’s been having some complications and while this scope did eliminate some worries, it also showed us some pretty big concerns with William’s airway that could require complex surgery this summer. Please keep him, us, and his medical team in your prayers!

If you’re a paid subscriber to this newsletter, you get early and ad free access to episodes of my podcast, Letters to Women. Instead of waiting for the episodes to come out every other week, you get to press play as soon as I finish editing.

A huge thank you for your support that make it possible for me to do a bit of podcast editing while in the surgery waiting room today. It’s a total gift and privilege to be able to work doing what I love.

Today, I’m sending you access to an episode that won’t release until next Tuesday, “A Letter to the Mother Discerning Foster Care and Adoption” featuring Kimberly Henkel, the co-founder of Springs of Love.

In this third episode of the Letters to Mothers series, we’re talking about how Kimberly and her husband Greg discerned the call to foster care. We’re also busting myths around adoption that might be holding you back from discerning that call as a family, and both of us are sharing our experiences as adoptive mothers.

Whether you’re exploring the possibility of adoption or foster care, you’re already an adoptive or foster mother, or you’re wondering how to better support adoptive and foster families in your community, this letter is for you.
